The National Front Against the Coup d'Etat, made up of the various organized expressions in Honduras, in the face of the situation provoked by the coup d'etat, informs the rest of the population of the actions taking place at the same time we make a statement about this whole process in agreement with the principles that guide the Popular Movement to achieve the transformation of Honduran society so that it is more inclusive, not discriminatory, and based on the solidarity and well-being of the majorities in the country.
In this spirit we communicate:
We hold responsible Mr. Micheletti, together with the group of coup-plotters for the actions of the police and military forces that have caused the death of Isis Obed Murillo a young man of 16 years, that have wounded several people and hit others. Among the wounded of yesterday evening are the young man Darwin Antonio Lagos and the judge Guillermo López.
The National Front Against the Coup d'Etat, presents its condolences and shows respect and solidarity to the family of the murdered young man and the wounded people. This young man is from a family in the Departament of Olancho and they are not people who participate in popular organizations, they are simply people who struggle for a state of well-being.
The coup government and those who accompany it are lost, so much so that they have gone to all the hierarchies of the churches and the police so that they show their faces for them and defend them. The popular movement is clear about the roll of the religious leadership, it has always been in favor of the oligarchic groups, that is why it repudiates the attitude of the pseudo-representatives of the churches.
We condemn the terrorist attitude of the authorities imposed by the usurper coup government of Mr. Micheletti, which repress through arms the different forms of protest of the population. They intimidate with police and military blockades all over, especially in highways, where military with their weapons board the transport.
As a Honduran people we thank the solidarity and understanding of the Latin American governments, the Organization of American States, and the international community for the forcefulness and objectivity with which they have maintained the position that in Honduras the institutional order has been broken and a coup d'etat has occurred.
We denounce before the Honduran people and the international community that part of the government of the United States, like the military industry and the Intelligence Agency, is supporting the coup-makers in Honduras, it is important to start from that appearance.
The mobilization that took place yesterday in Tegucigalpa, was massive, some 300,000 people participated. It is important to recognize the discipline and the spirit of struggle that allowed them to stay put despite the repression of the military forces. At the same time we make a call to everyone to continue in the struggle for the reclamation of their rights.
